Sodium Hydrosulfite for indigo

To reduce indigo dye you also need, in addition to soda ash, Sodium Hydrosulfite.
For dyeing with Jacquard Indigo it is absolutely essential that you use Jacquard Sodium Hydrosulfite as a reactive agent. It will be added later in the process.

Jacquard Sodium Hydrosulfite is for use with Jacquard's pre-reduced Indigo.

1 part of pre-reduced Indigo dye & 2 parts of Sodium Hydrosulfite & 4 parts of Soda Ash (use 4 L of water for every 20 g of dye).

Sodium Hydrosulfite as a colour remover

To remove colour from textiles, add Sodium Hydrosulfite with Soda Ash in equal parts (1:1) at 3-5%  by fabric dry weight.
Meaning: 3 - 5 g on 100 g of fabric weight.
Heat the liquid to 85°C, add the fabric and continue heating. Colour removing works best with boiling liquid.
Keep moving the fabric for 10 to 20 minutes or until the colour has left the fabric as desired. Then wash in cold water with mild detergent.
Please note: not all dyes can be removed from textiles. Results may vary. If possible, test first.

Please also note:

• Use caution, as Sodium Hydrosulfite is harmful when swallowed. If swallowed, give water or milk and call a physician.
• Avoid contact with eyes.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
• Do not expose to excessive heat.
